FITESA ANNOUNCES NEW STATE-OF-THE-ART SPUNMELT LINE FOR ITS SIMPSONVILLE, SC FACILITY

March 17, 2016

SIMPSONVILLE, SC – Following our release of information in August 2015 regarding capacity expansions in Europe, the US, and South America, Fitesa confirms that the new US capacity will be installed at our plant site in Simpsonville, SC. The state-of-the-art spunmelt line will have an annual nameplate capacity of 24,000 MT and will begin commercial operation in the second half of 2017.

SIMPSONVILLE, SC – Following the release of information regarding a capacity expansions in Europe, the US, and South America in August, Fitesa confirms that the new European capacity will be installed at our plant site in Peine, Germany. The state-of-the-art spunmelt line will have a capacity of 20,000 MT and will begin commercial operation in early 2017.

FITESA FACES BRIGHT FUTURE WITH EXPANSION

FITESA ANNOUNCES THE COMMERICALIZATION OF A 100% BIOBASED SPUNBOND PERFORMANCE NONWOVEN FOR THE HYGIENE AND PERSONAL CARE MARKETS

SIMPSONVILLE, SC – Fitesa, Braskem and NatureWorks engineers have worked together to produce a new performance  nonwoven product composed of not one, but two biobased polymers in a sheath-core, bicomponent configuration. The sheath is made of Braskem’s I’m green™ 100% biobased polyethylene while the core uses NatureWorks’ 100% biobased Ingeo polylactide.  Read the full release.

FITESA INTRODUCES NEW 100% SUSTAINABLE, BIO-BASED SPUNBOND NONWOVEN

April 19, 2013

SIMPSONVILLE, SC– Fitesa announces the development and commercialization of a new 100% sustainable, 100% bio-based, spunbond nonwoven for the hygiene and personal care markets.

This new nonwoven is composed of not one, but two bio-based polymers in a sheath-core, bicomponent configuration that takes full advantage of each polymer’s unique features. The spunbond fibers consist of a polyethylene (PE) sheath which is produced from sugar cane and a polylactic acid (PLA) core produced from corn. The resultant nonwoven is extremely soft, thanks to the PE outer sheath, yet remains strong and robust due to the PLA core.
